Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of EdgeOwl: what the service does, what you pay and what happens when you leave.

draftDraft of 5 November 2026, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. The marked items are still open.

01

Who we are

EdgeOwl is a product of Support Rapid SRL, IDNO 1013600009516, Vadul lui Vodă, 60, MD-2023, Chișinău, Republic of Moldova. In these terms “we” means Support Rapid SRL and “you” means the person or company that holds the account.

Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and handles taxes and invoices.

02

The service

EdgeOwl makes scheduled backups of MikroTik routers, installs RouterOS updates and tells you when something needs attention. It works with RouterOS 7; RouterOS 6 is not supported yet. Routers without a public IP connect through Relay.

What each feature does is described in the Docs.

03

Your account

You sign up with Google or with an email address. Keep your sign-in details and your second factor safe; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Connect only routers you own or are allowed to manage.

[TODO legal: minimum age, and who may accept these terms for a company]

04

Access to your routers

You add a router by pasting our setup script into its terminal. The script creates a dedicated user with only the policies backups and updates need; the details are on the Security page.

You can revoke that access at any time with /user remove edgeowl. EdgeOwl then loses the connection, and your backups stay available for download.

05

Your encryption key

Backups are encrypted with your key, and only you hold its private half. If you lose it, your backups cannot be decrypted, not by you, not by us. Keep the recovery code shown at signup somewhere safe.

06

Updates

Every update starts with a fresh backup; if the backup fails, the update does not run. We install only the version RouterOS itself offers in the device's own channel. After the reboot we check that the router answers and that the version matches.

Updates run when you press the button or on the weekly schedule you have approved. If a router does not come back, you get an alert with the pre-update backup ready to restore.

[TODO legal: who is responsible for a router that fails during or after an update]

07

Prices and payment

One price per router, per month: $2 each for 1–2 routers, $1 each for 3 or more. You prepay for 3, 6 or 12 months; the minimum is 3 months. Prices are in USD.

Paddle sells EdgeOwl on our behalf as merchant of record: it takes the payment, issues the invoice and handles VAT and sales tax for your country. The Paddle buyer terms also apply to your purchase.

08

Free trial

10 days free with every feature. The trial starts when you add a card in the Paddle window; nothing is charged during the 10 days. On day 11 the prepaid period you picked is charged, unless you cancel before that in the dashboard.

09

Renewal

Prepaid periods are not auto-renewed unless you enable it. With auto-renew on, the plan renews every 3 months for the routers you have on that day, at the rate for that number. Turn it off in the dashboard before the renewal date and nothing is charged.

10

Refunds

We do not refund a paid period. The details are in the Refund Policy.

11

Ending the service

You can stop at any time and delete your account in the dashboard. Download what you need first: encrypted backups are deleted after 30 days, and paid periods are not refunded.

[TODO legal: what happens when a prepaid period ends without renewal, and when we may suspend an account]

12

Warranties and liability

[TODO legal: warranties, limitation of liability and service levels, if any]

13

Changes and governing law

[TODO legal: how we announce changes to these terms and when they take effect]

[TODO legal: governing law, jurisdiction and courts]
